Taper Turning Attachment - Explained. The Taper Turning Attachment is a specialized equipment for turning tapers on a lathe. It is very similar to copying a profile onto the job.
This video shows the various parts of a taper-turning attachment, and how it works, using animation of 3D CAD models for explanation of the concept.
The SolidWorks models will show step by step, how to install and use the attachment.
The various parts include a Guide Bar, a Draw Bar, a Slider that slides over the Guide Bar, etc.
The Draw Bar is connected to the Cross Slide, while the Cross-Feed Screw is disengaged.
The model also shows the motion of the tool, along the taper angle, in an animation.
